SERVICES PROVIDED:

Mental Health has been my area of interest and passion since I was 15 years old. Accordingly, I have worked in Mental Health for 30+ years.

I am a Private Practice Counselor and Therapist, post Masters Degree since 1994, for 23+ years. Therapy facilitates a client’s insight and thereby creates change. Counseling involves problem solving including education and support.

Families, Couples, Individuals, teens and school-aged children are all welcome. Group Therapy can be available based on demand. I am interested in and enjoy working with a variety of life challenges and problems with functioning. These include: Relationship Problems, Adjustments, Grief/Loss, Depression and Bipolar, LGBT, Stress Management and Anxiety, ADD/ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Parenting, Pre/Marital, Divorce Coaching/Collaboration, Elder Care Family Mediation, Personality Disorders, Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse and Eating Disorders. I will provide a referral for anyone I do not feel is an appropriate fit for my skills, experience, or approach to therapy or at your request.

For those seeking Supervision toward a License as Professional Counselor, I offer Individual and Group Supervision.

I work to clearly understand your concerns, to build a trusting and respectful relationship, and to assess your concerns and share this Assessment with you. If you choose to proceed with treatment, as recommended, we will identify your specific goals and formulate a Treatment Plan that is individualized to your needs and priorities.

If you choose to decline to proceed with treatment, even if simply we are not a good fit, your choice will always be respected. You have the right to self-determination. If for any reason you are not benefitting from my services, the treatment will be terminated. You will be offered the opportunity to complete an anonymous evaluation of my services. If requested, you will be provided a referral.

THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION:

I use a Systemic Family Therapy approach with a Solution Focused and Brief Therapy foundation.  I draw from and integrate interventions from: Interpersonal therapy, Behavioral, & Cognitive Therapies, Positive Psychology, Strategic, Structural, Bowenian, Narrative, Psycho-dynamic and Emotionally Focused Therapies.  These choices are made on a case by case basis according to the clients’ presenting problem, form of communication, functioning level, and/or degree of motivation for change.
